の: linking nouns — “’s” and “of”

Possession, description, and の as “the one”.
要点The idea
の links two nouns: in A の B, B is the main thing and A describes it (read it backwards: B of A).
A日本語(にほんご)にほんご の 先生(せんせい)せんせいnihongo no senseia Japanese teacherA teacher of Japanese.
Order matters: the last noun is the main thing, and everything before の describes it.
